as soon as it is received and all hands handling the clay should be clean, dry and free from lint or fuzz.

Your print will be fired, finished with a silver jump ring, hand-stamped with the initials you specify, polished and mailed back to you at the address you provided within four to six weeks. The silver clay will shrink slightly during the firing process, making your finished print a bit smaller. If your fingerprint curls while drying, this is normal and it can be flattened out once fired. Do not try to flatten it yourself or drop the print as it will break. PURCHASED CHAINS WILL BE MAILED WITH THE FINISHED FINGERPRINT. |
| A permanent mold may be made from the practice clay received in your kit. It is possible for us to make additional fingerprints from your mold providing it is a good fingerprint impression. (Many attempts can be made prior to baking to achieve the best possible fingerprint impression). To make your practice clay fingerprint a permanent mold, place practice clay fingerprint on parchment paper on a baking sheet and bake in a conventional oven at 250 degrees for 15 - 20 minutes. The practice clay fingerprint will be pliable immediately after baking, therefore, do not touch until completely cool as to not distort the shape. Store in safe place for keeping. The cost of 1 kit + $5 fee is required to make additional fingerprint pendant/charms of molds. Mold must be sent with a request and check, money order or credit card information + 7% tax (IA residents only). |

Remove sealed silver package from small kraft
envelope and tear open carefully. Unfold and invert plastic to
remove clay. Working quickly, gently knead to soften and
re-shape clay into a ball. DO NOT roll in palm.
Place
reshaped ball of clay between the layers of mylar square.
Using
something hard, flat and smooth, press down on top of the clear flap
until the clay is approximately the size of a dime or penny.
This helps to remove any unwanted lines.
Life
the clear mylar flap slowly, and using firm pressure, press downward
with the finger into the flattened clay. Press hard enough to
see the clay squish out from the finger without pressing the clay
too thin. Do not roll the finger. Babies and small
children have very fine ridges and may require extra firm pressure.
The ridges may also be difficult to see.
Lift the finger slowly and gently to see the print.
Do only once for the best results. It is not recommended to
re-do the print. Expect some irregularities... this is what
keeps them unique!
Remove
the clear flap and leave imprinted clay on silver mylar to dry
undisturbed overnight. The print will slide off when completely dry.
Place dried fingerprint in the provided jewelry box and return along
with completed form below. Each print must be accompanied by a
completed form and kept together when returning multiple prints.
Using provided return label, apply correct postage and return in
padded envelope to Prairie Creations. Postage due packages will be
returned to you for extra postage. Multiple prints may be
shipped in same package with completed forms.
